Autumn in the Nockberg Nationalpark
Author: Markus Böheim
Who doesn’t know those colors - gold, red, yellow, green, brown….all of which you can find here in the Nock Mountains now. Fall has arrived here. For me it’s an exceptional time for long walks in the National Park. Now is the time to experience the uniqueness of the Nockberg region in its entirety. When I’m underway as a caretaker, we feel the specialness of nature without saying much – just sort of listening. Letting ourselves be enchanted. There is great hiking for large and small, the young and the young at heart, the athletic and the less-athletic.
Naturally I would love to give you tips for hiking routes. Maybe we’ll meet on one of our stunning “Nocks”, anything is possible. At any rate, now is the time when one hike is more beautiful than the other. And before I forget, there is no “bad weather”, just the wrong or not enough gear. Now in fall the motto “more is better” is advisable - you can always take something off, but if the weather changes or you get cold and you don’t have anything to put on, the most lovely hike can turn into a bad experience. Having said this, I wish everyone who wants to visit the Nockberg National Park a great time. Yours, Markus.
