Speik walks on your holiday in Austria
Walking where the Speik grows
On your Speik walks, hiking will become a true wellness experience: a fresh and herb-like aroma fills the air and in some alpine huts there are troughs full of soothing Speik water awaiting you.
The outstanding reputation of the Speik plant has echoed throughout the peaks of the Nockberge Mountains in Austria for hundreds of years. And just like in days of old, the plant is still only found in the Nockberge Mountains. It is only here in these mountains that this aromatic plant has found the ideal climate in which to grow. Those looking to experience the Speik plant in its natural environment should come to the Nockberge Mountains and enjoy walks and hikes through this Speik wonderland.
Speik walks throughout the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains
Alpine Valerian sculpture in Bad Kleinkirchheim On selected hiking trails you can enjoy the fresh and aromatic scent of the Speik plant. The plant’s smell is particularly intense in July and August. With its tart and pungent aroma, the Speik plant is considered to be both stimulating and harmonising at the same time. A long hike through the pleasant and aromatic Nockberge Mountains will simultaneously rejuvenate and soothe you. In eleven rustic alpine huts you’ll find Speik footbath troughs waiting for you. Of course, free massage oil from Speick Natural Cosmetics is also available.
Speick Natural Cosmetics is the only manufacturer of cosmetics and therapeutic products based on the Speik plant. The perfect addition to an aromatic walk and a revitalising footbath is a hearty meal consisting of Carinthian specialities served in one of the huts.
