Mountain bikers do not balk at nature’s uneven ground, or at riding over roots and debris. They are always searching for the next cycling adventure and adrenaline rush.

Mountain bike tours in the Nockberge Mountains in Carinthia:

Tour 1 – FIS Franz Klammer

From the Harmony Hotel Kärntnerhof, it’s on towards the Kaiserburg middle station, past the Dragehütte to just below the Kaiserburg mountain station. From here, carry on to the Rossalmhütte and over the mountain ridge with magnificent views to the Strohsack (1,904m). After a short descent along a meadowland trail, the route leads on past the Maibrunnhütte and along a forest trail down to Bad Kleinkirchheim.

Tour 2 –
Cycling around the Kolmnock

Forest roads and Alpine trails lead around the Kolmnock. The route starts out at the Harmony Hotel Kärntnerhof and leads on towards the Dragehütte and over the mountain ridge westwards to the Strohsack (1,904m). From here, the route leads along the South side down to the Wegerhütte and West from the Feldpannbach brook. Here the route leads around the mountain via Obertweng and along the Twengbach brook back to the start. For those who prefer a less strenuous route, take the Kaiserburg-Gondel cable car (free with the Kärnten Card).

Tour 3 – Mountain bike tour around the Priedröf

From the district of Bach in Bad Kleinkirchheim, the route runs to the Spitzeck via St. Oswald and over the Brunnachhöhe ridge to the St. Oswalder Bockhütte. This medium-difficult tour requires plenty of stamina! If you prefer to save yourself the 500 m climb, you can take the Nationalparkbahn cable car to the top (free with the Kärnten Card). The descent follows single trails and footpaths in parts to the Petodnighütte. Then it runs along forested and some asphalt trails to St. Peter and Obertweng and via a woodland path back to Bad Kleinkirchheim.
