A unique member of the valerian family grows in the Nockberge Mountains: Alpine valerian. Thousands of years ago the beauties of the orient imported the much-coveted gold of the Nockberge Mountains. Alpine valerian was one of the first cosmetic goods. The experienced national park rangers offer interesting guided tours to treasure troves of this gold of the Alps.
